Autodesk Fusion 360 Free For Hobbyists
Issue:
When you start Fusion 360, you see a countdown clock for a trial. You want to know how to select the freestart-up/enthusiast or free educational licensing option.
Solution:
Important license information
Discussion Autodesk Fusion 360 CAD/CAM. From what little reading I've done it doesn't look to be 'quite Solidworks' & a few other issues to be expected with any new App.
To get a start-up or educational license, download and install Fusion 360 from the Autodesk website or the Autodesk education website.
- The free start-up/enthusiast licenses give you access to Fusion 360 with a yearly subscription after the trial period ends. Small businesses making less than $100,000 a year (or the equivalent) can use this license. You can also use it if you're a hobbyist using Fusion 360 for non-commercial purposes.
Educational licenses come in two versions: individual licenses, and licenses for administrators in educational institutions (see the following sections). Educational institutions can also use group lab installation.
Note: Start-up or educational licenses aren't available through the Apple Store. If you installed Fusion 360 through the Apple Store, perform a clean uninstall of Fusion 360. Then reinstall directly from the Autodesk website or the Autodesk education website.

Change an education license to a commercial license
If you previously associated an email address or username in Autodesk Account with an education license, you can't reuse those credentials for a Fusion start-up or commercial license. You must provide new account information. To maintain the login information associated with an existing account, contact the education support team so that they can remove all associated education licenses first.
To ensure that you qualify for a start-up or education license, see the eligibility requirements:
